Who Should Attend:
This 2-day course is suitable for new engineers or someone cross training with limited background in distribution transformers.
Completion of PUI: Electrical Calculations I - Technician Level, PUI: Electrical Calculations II - Engineering Level, or similar work experience performing electrical calculations is a prerequisite for this course.
Participants will develop an understanding of the best practices for sizing an overhead or padmounted transformer for expected load demands, applied transformer theory, connections, fusing, loading, application and safety. Each participant will be able to correctly identify, connect or reconnect three phase transformer banks and load check three phase installations.
Students should bring an engineering scale and a calculator that includes trigonometry functions (sine, cosine, tangent) and be familiar with its operation.
The course is instructed by experienced utility professionals possessing a solid background in utility power systems and operations.
